SPRING IN THE CHERRY-TREES
buzzing gown
came out
a conductor
her bridesmaid
spinning
a thousand white petals
into a frail train
and the cherry-trees
started off a wild waltz
joining the sky
and the soil.
When the lights
faded
blackbirds sat
in the tree tops
and the weary bride
tiptoed out
of the garden
down the dun trail.
